Joe Breaux – Founder, Operator, Sommelier
Since 1996 Joe has worked in two fields, restaurants and non-profits, with a common thread of service to others. This service has taken him to six countries and inside some of the finest restaurants.
In 2010, while managing at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Joe certified as a Sommelier and his fondness for wine became official. Joe served three years as wine manager at Fleming’s where he managed an award winning wine list, worked on Fleming’s National Wine PMO committee, and was selected to attend Fleming’s Cultural Summit in Chicago representing the top 15 managers nationwide.
The skills learned managing at Fleming’s opened the door to accepting a position as GM at a French restaurant and Beverage Director for a small restaurant group. In this position, Joe was responsible for operations at The Brasserie as well as beverage programs and special events for three restaurants while gaining valuable experience managing a multi-unit operation.
With a desire to focus on the world of wine, Joe started BEVWORKS with the intention of managing beverage programs for restaurants. Looking for his first client, Joe called Justin Thompson, a restaurateur planning to open a steakhouse in downtown Tulsa. The timing was perfect and in 2012 Joe helped Justin open PRHYME Downtown Steakhouse. Within six months BEVWORKS helped open Tavolo Italian Bistro, added Juniper Restaurant & Martini Lounge, and was named Beverage Director for Justin Thompson Restaurants.
Joe’s service to others extends outside the walls of restaurants through work with many non-profit organizations. Joe has worked with the Philbrook Wine Experience (among the nation’s top ten wine fundraising events) as Vintner Chair and developing their trade education seminars. He has also served as Food & Beverage Chair for the Tulsa's Cattle Baron's Ball of the American Cancer Society. Before managing restaurants Joe was project manager for a non-profit, DHM World, that took him to Peru, Brazil, Honduras, Haiti, Jamaica, and Italy.
Miranda Breaux – Accountant / Client Relations / Owner
With over a decade of accounting experience for CPA’s and Oil Companies Miranda provides a wealth of expertise to the financial management of our clients. Beginning her career with a BA from Oral Roberts University Miranda began working for Mares CPA-PC in 2003. In the family owned accounting firm Miranda wore many hats gaining experience performing accounting, marketing and public relations, payroll, AR & AP, general Ledger, taxes and financial statement preparation.
In 2006, Miranda took a position with Kaiser Francis Oil Company as the Special Projects Accountant. Eight short months later she was promoted to the position of Royalty Relations Liaison (the youngest in company to hold that position) where she became the “voice” of KFOC managing company relations with 10,000 royalty owners. It was in this position that Miranda honed her skills for processes and client services.
In June of 2012, Miranda started handling the accounting for Bevworks. In May of 2014 she turned her full attention in applying her skills to our clients.
Miranda has several hobbies which include yoga, working out, walks with her husband and Lady (schnauzer), visiting children’s hospitals and nursing homes with the Tulsa Dog Training Club…and drinking big red wines.
